About School Counseling

I am a member of the American School Counselor Associatio and Texas Counseling Association, and I sit on the Committee for Membership in Counselors for Social Justice. 

Counselors in Texas: Have a masters degree from an accredited university, a minimum of two years teaching experience, and have taken and passed state teaching and counseling certification examinations.

We adhere to the Texas state guidelines for a Comprehensive Developmental Guidance Program.  Under those guidelines, school counselors see each class for relevant and important guidance lessons, small groups and individuals for counseling, and meet with parents, teachers, and administrators to assist in student academic and emotional support.
